Onkyo recently announced a trio of network ready A/V Receivers which the company says will begin shipping in July.

The TX-NR1008, TX-NR808, and TX-NR708 are 3D ready A/V receivers which feature THX Select2 Plus Certification, support for the latest lossless audio codecs, Faroudja DCDi Cinema video processing and upscaling, multi-room output capabilities, network audio streaming, iPod connectivity, and Audyssey equalization and room-correction technologies.

All three models support the new HDMI v1.4 connectivity standard for new 3D video displays and are compatible with the mandatory formats for 3D broadcast content of “Side-By-Side (Half)” and “Top-and-Bottom” 3D video formats.

In addition, each of the new network receivers includes a rear-panel Ethernet port that links it directly to the internet for access to streaming Internet radio services such as Pandora or Sirius Internet Radio or to DLNA server inside your home. The Ethernet connection also brings the added convenience of being able to receive and install firmware upgrades over the internet.

The receivers audio processing capabilities include the ability to playback older 5.1 lossy codecs along newer audio codecs such as Dolby Pro Logic IIz, Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio.

For multi-room set-ups, the TX-NR708 allows users can take advantage of a powered Zone 2 or a Zone 2 line out. Meanwhile, the TX-NR808 provides a powered Zone 2, along with pre-outs for Zones 2 and 3. Finally, the TX-NR1008 can deliver 5.1-channel surround sound in the main room, plus fully powered stereo audio of two different sources in Zone 2 and Zone 3.

Along with the two extra amplifier channels and one extra HDMI output, the step up TX-NR1008 also comes with ISF video calibration controls for independent optimization of every video source and an extra 192 kHz/24-bit Burr Brown DAC to handle the heavy demands of multi-channel audio processing.

The TX-NR1008 and TX-NR808 include Onkyo's bi-directional and customizable preprogrammed remote control to simplify the process of programming all the components in the system.

Onkyo says the TX-NR708 and TX-NR808 will reach dealers in the beginning of July and will sell for U.S. $899 and $1,099 respectively. The TX-NR1008 will ship at the end of July and will sell for U.S. $1,399.  In Canada, the TX-NR708, TX-NR808, and TX-NR1008 will sell for $999, 1,199, and $1,499 respectively.
