I have an older 400 series receiver that the signal fluctuates rapidly from 16 to 70 and it makes it very hard to watch. None of my other receivers behave this way. First thing I should check when I get a chance is the coax but do you think that there is the off chance that this receiver may be pooched?

Hi Iceman31,

The easiest thing to do is swap receivers to determine if it's a receiver issue or a cable issue. Take your 400-series to a "working" TV, connect it up, and see how it behaves. (Alternately, if its easier you can take a "working" receiver to the 400-series location).

Either way, give Shaw Direct a call with the results and we'll get it resolved for you.

It was the receiver, SD will replace, they offered me an upgrade to a DSR319 for $29.99, I asked to upgrade to a HD Receiver and the rep said that there was no upgrade available, I would be charged the full $199 if I wanted to go that route. I was hoping to get a DSR605 for the $49.00 Upgrade that others have gotten.
