Nuance speakers

A sales guy tried to sell my step dad a full 7.1 setup of Nuance speakers.... They didn't sound all that great but he went on and on about them.

My step-dad is looking for a system for his summer home, he's running Wilson Pups and MacIntosh Amp and Receiver at our house. (Don't ask where the money comes from) So he really knows what sounds great and has the disposable income for some decent speakers. I told him to stay away from Nuance, they sounded very strange and I couldn't find any info anywhere on the internet.

What do you folks think? And what do you recommend?

Confessing sins...

WOW! This thread has turned out has a big sin confession with lots of `mea coulpa`! Guys, you should have bought Fluance NOT Nuance as at the price difference, GOOD or BAD you wouldn't have suffered the lost so much ;)
I don't mean to be rude but the business did't die with the men. While this is very unfortunate, business goes on as usual and the business ows you, have you tought of a complaint to your BBB? That might help get the BUSINESS to take their responsibility toward you.

Good luck!
René
Humm, dosn't look too good! Mabe call them up sometime today to get further details and suggestions.
So there is a guy locally looking to trade his Nuance SP-3 towers for some Athenas.
Gosh, my 30 years old AKAI speakers would be more reliable than any of those Nuance speakers ;)
he said about 6 years ago the founder of nuance died and so did the company soon after. so the life time warranty died with him.
Yet seems that this thread will not die! ;)
