Does anyone know why some sports events are available in HD and some other not ?

I just subscribed to an HD package and was really looking forward to buying UFC events in HD but this weekend the only PPV channel with UFC 127 is in SD...that's sad.

I phoned Cogeco about it and the answer was something like "we're very sorry but that event is only available in SD..."

At least the card looks awesome!

Are you sure Cogeco doesn't have an HDPPV channel, I thought all providers had at least one?

EDIT: This is from Cogeco's website,

Are Pay Per View and Video on Demand orders available in High Definition?

PPV is available in HD in certain areas on channels 790 & 791. If these channels show in your on-screen guide, they are available to you. VOD is not currently available in HD.
So I guess it is only available in certain areas. You see this is what pisses me off about providers, all the profits these company's make & the constant rate increases year in and year out and there is still this kind of crap going on.
