Hello and thanks in advance for any ideas, suggestions or help you can offer.

I'm trying to move some of my old camcorder tapes to my pc and then to DVD.

Presently trying to move videos from my Sony CCD-TRV98 Hi8 Camcorder.
I am using easycap dongle with the S video option and using the pc line in for audio.

I have done this with VCR tapes and was able to copy my old videos to mys PC the same way (easycap dongle with the S video option and using the pc line in for audio).

With the Sony camcorder, I can only get video and no audio at all.

Any ideas on how to get audio to show up on the pc?

Thanks again!

All I can suggest is to troubleshoot by double checking the settings and audio at every point in the link; audio out on the camera, audio cable connection, audio input levels on PC, correct audio assignments on PC, audio source on recording software, etc.

when capturing audio into your pc, sometimetimes the connection is fine but your sound cards mixer might have the auxiliary input muted, check the windows sound mixer properties to see if any inputs are muted
