I cannot find the game on any of the RSN channels in Vancouver. What is up with that? RSN has a half dozen channels, including the new RSN1 and they cannot figure out how to get the game out to us? Pathetic.

Sportsnet Pacific had Canucks-Kings. Like I said in another thread, I don't think that One can air MLB playoff games. If you got the "half a dozen" channels then you would have got the game on East and West, so you can't say that Sportsnet has half a dozen channels and can't get the game to you.

It's pathetic. Tsn had TSN and TSN2 and whenever something overlaps or they can't show it on TSN then it goes on TSN2.

What is the point of SNET1? SNETP and SNETO were showing hockey games so they didn't get the baseball game on those channels. I doubt many people have SNETW and SNETE and it is uncalled for for Rogers to expect people to pay extra to get those channels just to see a game. Those channels aren't available in HD for me (in BC) and I know many people who find it unacceptable to be making a playoff game only available in SD to many of its viewers.

Meanwhile SNET1 is showing womens volleyball, pool and stuff nobody watches. What about bars and pubs? I bet many of them were choked when they found out they could not show ALDS to its customers or had to show it in crappy SD.

At the very least SNET should have shown the game on SNETP up until the start of the Canucks game and warned viewers that they would switch to Canucks at 7:30.

There is yet another instance of this occuring on Tuesday I think...

I still think this is pathetic. I pay $90+ dollar in cable and I cannot get a baseball playoff game. There is just no excuse for this in my books. I simply do not understand how they cannot make it happen. There must be another standoff going on about only if Telus carried the Rogers this and that bull then we would get the game. This is pure crap.

"don't think that One can air MLB playoff games."

They are showing the Philies game tonight while the Yankees series is on Sports Net Pacific. This just proves that Rogers just did not give a damn about their viewers in BC.

That's a different situation. One was only airing bonus coverage because the Yankees-Rangers game ran long, they weren't airing the whole game.

I wouldn't say that this means that Sportsnet doesn't give a damn about BC, if they didn't give a damn about BC then the Canucks game wouldn't have been on. The Canucks pull in 500, 000 in BC alone, its lucky if the ALCS would do that nationwide. By your logic Rogers doesn't give a damm about anyone in Ontario either, and we all know that isn't true.

In that case it would be Telus' fault, not Sportsnet's. Telus' website says that Sportsnet East and West are available in the "Sports Top Up" package and West is available in HD in the "Sports Top Up HD" package. The website also says its $2 a month.

Yes the ALCS have all been broadcast but that one game was only on West and East SNET in Standard Def which many do not get or they can't stand to watch the crappy picture (this is for Shaw customers).

Again this Tuesday there is another conflict, but SNET has moved the Canucks game from SNET Pacific to SNET Vancouver Hockey, so now the ALCS can be shown on SNET Pacific.

I bet they got a TON of complaints about their antics and wisened up.

All have been in HD on Shaw Direct.

They were also available in HD with Bell. But the point is they were not available in HD with Shaw Cable. And they were available in SD only if you had digital Shaw Cable service. Maybe the fault of Shaw, but it just shows that Rogers did not really need SN1 when they couldn't even provide MLB with SNP or SNO. Now at least they are using the companion HD channel to show the Canucks game on Tuesday so that all 4 regional HD/SD channels can carry MLB--which, according to others on this forum, Roger's contract with MLB stipulates.

Nope the Tuesday game was always scheduled for S-Net Vancouver Hockey. They have to carry 45 games on Pacific, so I guess they figured people would rather miss out on game 1 than a potential clinching game 4.

FWIW the Leafs game on Sportsnet Ontario brought in almost a million viewers. The World Series struggles to bring in a million viewers nationally (albeit Fox ratings aren't counted and most people probably watch Fox).

All this shuffling just proves that RSN WAS simply oblivious to the needs of their customers. They could have shown game 1, if they cared and/or woke up the problem, as they are showing the rest now.

Case closed.

Yep it will air on Ontario and One. I guess I was wrong about games airing on One during the playoffs (although I still don't think they can air exclusively on One).

This really makes me wonder why last Friday's game wasn't on One. I figure that they thought most people who got One also got East/West.
