Corus Entertainment and MTV Networks International announced today they launch a Canadian version of the popular American cable television channel Nickelodeon on November 2nd.

The channel can be found in many different countries, including the UK and Australia, where it is often referred to by its shortened name, Nick. In the U.S., the channel is aimed mostly at children ages 6–20, with the exception of their prime time block that is aimed at children ages 12–20.







In Canada, the 24-hour channel will feature many of Nick's most popular shows along with original Canadian series. Canadian premieres will include the new animated series Fanboy and Chum Chum, and the live-action series The Troop. Nick favourites will include SpongeBob SquarePants, iCarly, Dora The Explorer and The Backyardigans, and bring back series such as The Mighty B!, Danny Phantom and Avatar: The Last Airbender. 

The service will also bring viewers Nick library titles such as Ren & Stimpy, Angry Beavers, Rocko's Modern Life, The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius and The Rugrats. Rounding out the schedule, Nickelodeon will feature original Canadian series including Grossology, Max & Ruby, Storm Hawks and My Friend Rabbit.

Nickelodeon will launch in Canada on November 2nd at 6am. Readers will need to contact their local cable or satellite provider to find out if there service provider is carrying the new channel.
