I started the thread with a question and afterwards I hope that @Dr.Dave will post the relevant links and news for the season.

I noticed that a number NHL games would be streamed on Prime. From the NHL site, it appeared that those games would be exclusive to Prime. My question then, for the streamed games that involve Canadian teams, are those games still available on linear TV in the local markets?

Here is Amazon's full press release from April: Prime Video to Become the Home of National Monday Night NHL Games in Canada Beginning in 2024-25 Season, with Prime Monday Night Hockey

It says the English broadcast for the Monday night game will be exclusively on Prime Video. Your only hope may be to watch it in French, if available. The Amazon schedule is here:

50$ off should be an automatic incentive for those who return each year .

I've noted complaints on some hockey boards that they've been auto-renewed at regular price . I received notice 2 weeks before expiration so I was able to turn off auto renewal but some folks may have assumed it would renew at 199.99 or simply failed to read email from SN .

last year I started to simply watch the extended highlights offered by nhl's youtube channel as well as mlb , nfl YT channels .

Rodgers is doing a fantastic job running Shaw Direct with the NHL Center Ice free preview 🤨
Watching the Hawks play the Jets tonight Friday Oct 11 2024.
The only problem is that the screen is blocked 1/4 with the Attention this game is only available for regional viewing warning ⚠ 🤬

What was the resolution of the first Amazon Prime game yesterday? Anybody know?
In another forum many were saying the picture quality was far superior to TSN or Sportsnet.

Not with most streaming services.
For hockey I don't think Sportsnet or TSN provide 4k streams anymore.
They still show CFL and NHL games in 4K on their 4K channels, not sure if you can stream 4K thru their apps though.
