Will CrapTV be interrupting all 4 games again? I remember last year, it was horrible. Vertical picture scroll during the Jets - Chargers game, the inability to pass through surround sound / lack of surround sound during cheap Canadian commercials, and missed plays. Rogers kept dropping the simsub left and right as well.

Made for a horrible experience.

CTV is even going to be kind enough to throw in an hour of NFL simsub pregame goodness on Sunday. God bless you CTV...
Oh joy...

Rogers made things even worse by dropping the simsub and picking it up again. Everytime the simsub would be dropped my receiver would "click" when switching between audio formats, and then would "re-click" when switching to the inferior CTV broadcast. I thought my receiver was going to die on me with all the constant switching so rapidly.
My hope is for 8 hours of the TSN Bottomline
What I'd like to see is at least one of the games going to overtime, so we can see the new OT rules in action - it'll be interesting to observe if coaches change their strategy.
It looks as if CTV only sold 4 commercials and is coming back late from show promos.
I was watching the Packers-Eagles game on Fox's Seattle affiliate which was sim-subbed. During the first quarter they kept repeating the same plays. A punt would be taken, we'd see the ball landing, then the telecast went back to the punt being taken again with Joe Buck's commentary being repeated. This happened approximately five times in the first half of the first quarter.

Nothing ever changes. The ridiculous repetitiveness of ads and promos on Canadian TV (especially during sports programming) never ceases to amaze me. Every time I'm assaulted by these ads and promos over and over and over again I feel hostile to the products/programs being promoted. Surely I'm not the only one? Also, I can't believe any thinking human being could be enticed to watch the programs being pushed based on those awful CTV promos.
Looks like CTV is not showing the Jets/Pats game on Sunday at 4:30, instead its on TSN. So one non-simsubbed game, well, at least for the non-Bell folks.

I assume theres something bigger on at 7 or 8ish on CTV, but cant be bothered to look.
Yup, The Golden Globe Awards is at 8pm ET. CTV won't risk overtime running into that.
due to the big snow i was forced to watch some games on ctv. do they not have 5.1 audio? the games just dont sound as good as they do on cbs or fox.
I was down in the states over the weekend and was watching the Sunday late afternoon game live while also watching it "live" on my Slingbox from home, just to see.

You're not going to believe this, guys, but we're missing a shipload of stuff coming out of commercials. I'd guess it was close to 20 seconds sometimes; sure, some were promos, but there were still times where they'd be reviewing a replay while CTV was showing some promo for themselves.

The same thing happened last year with the NYJ/SD game in the same timeslot.
Thanks for that observation, NUJE. Some of the videos they show really help you understand what happened on a play. CTV doesn't care about that. Time for another Lloyd Robinson clip
I look foreward to the return of the TSN bottomline sunday afternoon.
TSN has never used the bottomline for an NFL broadcast, why do you think they would on Sunday?
Life is meaningless without the TSN bottomline.
I remember the first year CTV tried to superimpose their own ads on the CG billboards in the stands at the Superbowl.

Does CTV show all the post-regular season games? I want to follow my Saints, hopefully all the way to the Superbowl, but at the same time I'm shutting down my cable for good and switching to internet (already paid for by my home office! sweet!) so I can cherry pick the good shows and avoid the rest (how many channels need storage locker auction shows, really?). I'm wondering if they play all the post-reg-season games so I can just use the digital tuner in my TV.
TSN usually shows one Sunday afternoon Divisional Playoff game that conflicts with the Golden Globes. That game is on January 15 at 4:30pm ET this year. It is likely that will be an NFC game this year, although it will probably be the Packers game. New Orleans will probably play on Saturday at 4:30pm ET, which is on CTV.

Otherwise, every playoff game is on CTV.
