let me say i am totally new to this (audio set-up in general).

i have a peavey messenger portable sound system(100 watt). i am a missionary in Yucatan, Mexico and will use it in churches, sometimes villages... pretty much all purpose. sometimes with music, but usually just straight speaking engagements.

my question is, would it be beneficial to have a pre-amp or integrated amp set-up with this? i read a review and a guy used a behringer MIC800 pre-amp for his audio. should i do this too? to maximize sound quality?

sometimes the crowd can get rowdy so i want to do the best i can, yet i need to maintain 'in and out' type portability. any suggestions?

thanks!

I think that with your intended use of the system, what you have is probably the best. If you start getting into separate components, e.g. pre-amp, amp, etc. then you will be sacrificing portability.
