The new HDMI version of Roku’s Streaking Stick is now available for pre-order in Canada.
Due to be out in April, the device is available for pre-order for CAD$59.99 from Amazon.ca, Future Shop, Best Buy, Staples and other retailers.
The HDMI version of the streaming stick works with any HDTV that has an HDMI port and gives you access to more than 750 channels of movies, TV shows, music, news, sports and various streaming content up to 1080p high definition.
The new device is 3.1 by five inches, comes with a remote control and has built-in 802.11n dual-band wireless networking. It can be run using free Roku apps that are available for Android and iOS.
Roku’s first version of the streaming stick only worked with select televisions and cost twice as much as the new HDMI version.
The streaming stick will also allow you to cast Netflix, YouTube content and display your own personal media including videos, photos and music from your smartphone or tablet straight to your TV screen using the Roku app.
