Those of you heading into cottage country in Ontario this June will be happy to hear that Netflix is thinking of you.

Since clear, affordable streaming service in the back country can be as easy to find as your long-lost cousin Jonesey who went fishing last August and is Facebooking his photos no doubt, but hasn’t made it back to shore yet, the streaming video service is setting up download hubs.

Basically, Netflix is completing a ‘Download Zone’ tour. At select locations across Ontario, at select times, Netflix subscribers traveling in cottage country will be able to download the content they need, without an internet connection.

Check out this post on Mobile for a complete list of times and places, to stay up to date.

As an aside, why do we Canadians need these kind of crazy backwoods events to save the day when it comes to accessing the content we want, while on vacation in our own country?

Because restrictive mobile data plans from those big companies we “love to love” have made it too expensive to even catch the first 15 minutes of Orange is the New Black while lying in your hammock by the lake.
