With a format that hopes to compete with CFRQ (Q104), Evanov's Live 105.1 is expected to be installing their transmitter equipment the last week of August, 2010.

A brand new radio station is set to hit the air in Halifax soon. Live 105 will be the first Modern Rock station in Atlantic Canada.

This is great news for the maritimes. Classic rock is far too prominent in this area with multiple channels in the same area playing the same tired songs day after day.

Hopefully someone will follow suit in Fredericton.

It was originally licensed as an AAA station, as I recall. Why the switch?

I'll support any station that doesn't play Nickelback though.

Hello;
I'm with kirjtc2 on this one!
I think that it would be highly unlikely that the CRTC would allow radio stations to drop Nickleback ( canadian garbage) from their playlist!
Nickleback is a must play!
Here in CTV's Bronx; Nickleback is played on:
Top 40
Classic Rock- imagine!
Hot Country
Classic Country
Native????
radio stations!
No commercial radio for me!
Best Regards!
