Netgear today announced the NeoTV Streaming Player (NTV200), a media streaming device expected to compete with the likes of Apple TV, Roku2 XD and the Western Digital line of Live media streamers.

The Apple TV sized device lets users stream media from various internet sources such as Netflix, Vudu, YouTube, Pandora, and Napster.

Users control the device comes with the included remote control or via their smartphone by using the free iOS or Android NeoTV Remote app.



The NeoTV player connects to your home network via WiFi or Ethernet and to your television via HMDI. The player also has optical audio out (S/PDIF) for connecting to your home theatre.

The NeoTV Streaming Player (NTV200) will be available later in September in the United States for $79.99. No word yet on Canadian availability and pricing.
