Hey all...some of you may have already read a few of my posts here and there in the Telus thread....

I need some advice form the experts!! I'm all ready to make the switch to Telus from Shaw. Telus offered me a pretty good deal for phone, internet and Optik of $116/month for the first 12 months and then $165/month after that. Free Xbox and HD-PVR rental for 3 years...the usual. The only "problem" I'm facing is my profile of 1HD/2SD.

Would you guys switch and hope the profile gets upgraded relatively soon or wait until it's upgraded? I just can't seem to decide if having only 1HD feed to record and/or watch at once is that big of a deal. Inconvenience? Yes. Deal breaker? Not sure (that's why I'm here!).

Thanks for any help or advice!!!

First of all X-BOX! They didn't have that deal when I got mine....well I guess they did I got a laptop intead. You say you can only have 1 HD feed and 2 SD? Where do you live? I get HD in all my 3 HDTV's. What does $116/month give you, programming wise?
I switched from shaw and couldn't be happier because I also got a great deal and from the way things are going with telus lately they are going in the right direction. They have been adding new HD channels lately aswell as new features. Next year their internet connection speeds will almost double! Now that will be super fast.

Telus over Shaw?

I switched to Telus from Shaw about 3 months ago and couldn't be happier. I finally have HD over Analog and 15 mb/s instead of 1 mb/s on my internet, it's a no brainer. The free PVR rental for 3 years is a bonus too. But the best part was saving around $600 for the first year and still paying less per month on the remainder of the contract.

My only regret was I couldn't switch sooner!:D

Yeah...you get an Xbox360 slim when you sign up for high speed on a 2 year contract.

I live in Terwillegar in Edmonton...and my profile is 1HD/2SD...but not 300m from my house they're getting 2HD/1SD. Frustrating!

For the $116, I'd be getting home phone, unlimited long distance in North America, Optik high speed (up to 15Mbps), and the Optik TV Your Pick HD (9 theme packs), plus the HD-PVR and the Xbox.

@rafa
Same here...I'd be saving a ton of money...it's just that profile stopping me! All the little extras really make it worthwhile.

Just got mine installed on Aug 15th and im loving it. No regrets. Telus has done a very good job on the product. Just make sure you know what channels that you may like because it will help save you time when it comes to the install. Then you can Plug in and go, without waiting to add this or add that in HD. :)
