Definitive Technology has announced a new model addition to the Mythos line of on-wall high loudspeakers. The new Mythos Nine is 28" L x 5-7/16" W x 43/16", is proportioned to match 50-inch flat panel video displays when used as a L/R speaker and appropriate for 42-inch and larger sets when used as a center channel speaker.

Each Mythos Nine contains two high-definition Balanced Dual Surround System (BDSS) 4-1/2" drivers that are pressure coupled to two 4-1/2" x 8" racetrack-shaped planar medite low-bass radiators. The two active 4-1/2 inch drivers surround a new generation Pure Aluminum dome tweeter, the same used in Definitive’s Mythos ST SuperTowers.

Mythos series enclosures are hand-polished aircraft-grade extruded Aluminum featuring proprietary damping technologies that ensure total rigidity. All components are mounted on a resonance-free PolyStone baffle.

The Mythos Nine is an L/C/R loudspeaker that can be used as either a front/surround left/right or center channel speaker. The user attaches the logo badge either at the bottom or side of the grille depending on whether the unit is used as a L/R or center channel speaker.

Both polished Aluminum and gloss Black finishes are available to match the most popular TV colors. The Mythos Nine will be available in November 2008 at a Suggested Retail Price of $799.95 each.
