Hopefully these new WiFi Hotspots do a better job supporting all MTS customers as the current one at MTS Centre only works for MTS Mobile customers.
I've tried to use LTE in the MTS Center during a Jets game, and it's near impossible - the signal just doesn't make it through. However, I can pull 3-4 mbps down with the WiFi network connection consistently where I am sitting.b) I've tried speed tests on them and most seem to be the same as the HSPA speeds (or slower!) that I was getting.
c) I have a new LTE phone and it's probably much faster than the hotspot, unless they're on the fibre network?
This is the truth. I have been using my tablet all week at Roar of the Rings and even as an MTS high speed customer with an ID cannot get on to the MTS Wireless handset network. If you are not on a MTS Wireless handset, at least in my experience, it will prompt you are a user name, password and PEAP certificate. The only way to get the PEAP piece is with an MTS handset unless someone else knows a trick I missed.
The wireless instructions don't really say so, but I think you need a smartphone and a data plan, i.e. you have to be an MTS wireless internet customer. Otherwise, if you have a voice-only plan you could go the non-customer route and pay $4.95 for 24 Hours. What device are you planning to use?How to log in to an MTS Wi-Fi Hotspot
