MTS today announced that subscriptions to the NHL Centre Ice sports programming package are now available on its Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) service

For $200, MTS Ultimate TV subscribers will be able to view up to 40 out-of-market games a week throughout the 2011-12 regular season.

The games will be shown on channels 551 to 564 in Standard definition and channels 565 to 578 in high definition. In an effort to entice customers into signing up, MTS is also announced it will be offering a free view from October 6 to 23, 2011

The package is designed for hockey fans wanting to watch games outside of their local market. This means that Winnipeg residents will be unable to watch Jet's home games through the Centre Ice package because the broadcasts will be blacked out in Winnipeg.

Most Jets home games are expected to be available either on CBC or TSN.
