Online backup service provider, Mozy, today announced an updated Windows version of its online backup software which works in conjunction with its online back up service.
The company, which is owned by the EMC corporation, says that along with an improved user interface, it has made significant internal enhancements in version 2.0 which allows for faster upload speeds and decreased bandwidth usage.
Another new feature of Mozy V2.0 is the ability for users to back up to mirror their online data centre backup onto a local hard drive for added protection.
The service is compatible with Microsoft Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7. Mozy plans to release a Mac version of Mozy 2.0 later this year.
Mozy now offers consumers two online storage plans: A free plan which offers 2 GB of free storage and a paid solution which provides an unlimited amount of storage for $4.95 U.S. per month per computer.
