Just noticed this but cant see these channels anywhere in the lineup

"When you subscribe to Super Channel or Movie 4 or 6 Pack, you also get the U.S. Superstations, which include CW LA, CW Chicago, CW New York,
MY9 New York, TV38 Boston."

someone with the 4 or 6 pack confirm that you do get these other stations?

i do not see them in any other theme pack or as being available individually. So are they only available in the above deal?

CRTC regulations require that the U.S. Superstations can only be sold in conjunction with certain Canadian premium channels (mainly the Movie Central stations). That's why they aren't in any other themes.

As a Movie 4 Pack subscriber, I can confirm that the USA Superstations are included in the Movie Central and SuperChannel bundles. This makes the $18/month price tag a little more justifyable.

Doesn't Shaw offer the US Superstations as part of Digital Basic?

according to the shaw channels in my area page the superstations are part of digital TV. I am sure i got them when i was with shaw and i did not have superchannel or movie central.

what ever tho :) i called Telus and am getting the movie central 6 pack for 16bux more/month. not too bad.

curious tho. why does it take Telus "around a day" to turn on new channels?
Shaw could turn on channels in a few minutes.

I'm not sure why Shaw gets away with putting the U.S. Superstations in digital basic. I guess it's because no one complained to the CRTC. ;)

I think Telus probably doesn't have the automated systems in place. MTS has developed a system where customers can log in on their PCs and change their own theme packs. The changes take effect immediately. I think it took several months before the Mediaroom users could use the automated system.

The logic is that back in the dark ages the U.S. Superstations were premium content so the CRTC said they had to be matched with Canadian premium content.

Nowadays the Superstations aren't very premium, but the rules haven't changed.
