How in God's name would they regulate it other then take 30% off the top for charity or tax or something stupid. Anyone stupid enough to lose their life savings probably doesn't know how to use a computer anyway so it resolves itself.

Not really any different than casinos or horse racing or lotteries.

The study was sponsored by the lottery corporation. My guess is the Lottery Corporations are going to use the study to lobby the government to allow them to run poker websites.

I bet it's not!

Give me 3:2 add you're on.

In the U.S., 37% of respondents to the survey were aware that Internet gambling was illegal versus 41% two years earlier. In Canada, the number was 23%, down from 28% two years ago.
This makes me think that there has been a lot of new interest in the past two years. Increased poker tournaments on TV have likely contributed.

My guess is there will be legal Canadian poker sites within a couple of years. Its cheap to run and the government wants the revenue.

I haven't gone to the link but you can gamble up to $10,000 a week in British Columbia, over the internet with BC Lotteries Corporation.
Totally legal

If it is illegal how come the Mohawk Indian Reserve near Montreal is seemingly "allowed" to have a great big server farm providing internet gambling services ? If it is really illegal then the RCMP backed up by troops if necessary should go and close it down.
