In an effort to sign up new wireless subscribers for an extended period of time, upstart wireless provider Mobilicity has announced a new payment option which will give subscribers substantial discounts for paying for three, six, nine, or 12 months in advance.
In addition to lower the overall cost of mobile phone ownership, the company believes the multi-month payment options will be popular among students, parents who want to give the phone as gift and other budget-minded consumers who are concerned with cash flow.
For consumers who wish to pay for three months in advance, the company is offering an approximately 15% discount on any one of their three unlimited plans. Payments for six months in advance will get you 20% off, while nine months will get you 25% off and 12 months will get you 33% off.
For example, twelve months of service on the $35 unlimited talk and text plan, which would cost $420 if paid on a month to month basis, is priced at $279.99.
The following chart from Mobilicity summarizes the company's new multi-month pricing.
