Starting this Wednesday, Mobilicity will begin offering a new promotion which gives consumers in Toronto, Vancouver, Ottawa, Edmonton and Calgary a Blackberry Curve 3G smartphone and a year of unlimited service for $470.

To take advantage of the promotion, customers will be required to pay the full $470 upfront. In exchange, buyers receive a $299 Blackberry Curve 3G Smartphone and 12 months of wireless which is normally priced at $55 per month.

The wireless plan comes with a year of unlimited local talk, unlimited text and picture messaging, unlimited data, unlimited global text messaging, unlimited Canadian and U.S. long distance, voicemail, caller ID, call waiting, call forwarding, 3-way calling, plus the popular BlackBerry Internet Service (BIS).

The deal is noteworthy when you consider that the cost of a Blackberry Curve 9300 Smartphone plus a year of unlimited voice service with BIS and capped data plan would cost well over $1,600 from a traditional providers such as Rogers Wireless.
