The October 2009 Mobile Metrics Report from AdMob was released today and it provides some interesting insights into the growth of the mobile web.

The firm, which serves up ads to mobile devices from over 15,000 mobile sites, said that it served up just 10.2 billion advertisments in October, slightly less than the number it served up in September.

The country with the most adMob requests was the U.S. with 4.98 billion pages served up followed by India (597 million) and the United Kingdom (421 million). Canada was fifth on the list with 246 million ads up from 224 million ads served in September.

Apple users were the biggest users of the mobile web with 32.1% of all requests. iPhones accounted for 22.4% of requests while iPod Touch's accounted for 9.8% of all requests.
