Interesting article in the globe and mail recently had this nugget:

".....MLSE to launch its own sports network (working title: Real Sports) for which the company has secured a licence.

“Imagine a channel that had Leafs, Raptors, TFC and Marlies games on it,” (CEO Richard) Peddie muses. “Imagine what you could charge for that.”

Raptors NBA TV is already promoting a "rebranding" that seems to take the "Raptors" out of their name based on the new logo they show.
Is this a sign that it won't be long (ie. midway through this season, similar to sportsnet one's introduction) before leaf fans' wallets are tapped once again?

They will basically relaunch the RaptorsTV and LeafsTV channels as one.... the reason it wasn't done before was because the CRTC just loosened the restrictions for News and Sports services, makes sense to have one full channel with lots of content rather then 3 (including GOLTV)... just a thought

The new name for Raptors NBA TV is NBA TV Canada, I think they simply don't want non-Raptors fans to think its a Raptors only channel.

I don't think that it will happen until around the next bids for NHL rights. At that time I expect a new MLSE channel that will air the majority, if not all, of local Leafs games. After that I expect them to add around half of the Raptors games and quite a few TFC games. They could probably also have MLS and NBA. That would leave GolTV to being a foreign soccer channel once again.
