Microsoft opened its first retail store in Canada on November 16th.

Located at Toronto's Yorkdale Mall, the 6,800 square foot venue will contain huge touchscreens to display laptops, tablets, smartphones and an array of Microsoft software and gaming products.

The Microsoft store will also be featuring Windows-powered computers including recent models from Samsung, Sony, Acer, Asus, Lenovo and Dell.

Microsoft is employing 72 specially trained staff to ensure visitors get the right hands-on feel of the products and have their questions answered on the spot.

The Microsoft team spared no expense to draw the crowds in for the opening: hockey legend Wayne Gretzky will be there to mingle with visitors and play Kinect with a few lucky contest winners plus the band Train will be performing a concert in the mall's parking lot.
