Just got off the phone with tech support and it's in testing stages he also mentioned that they are planning on launching it around the same time as their new wireless network.

As someone who isn't well versed in Media Room, what would the changes from what we have now be?

Probably some of the same new features as Telus. Some of them are
- The "prev" channel button takes you to the previous channel and also pops up the last five
- Pause live tv on the 1200 series receivers (PVR feature required)
- Manage your PVR from a smart phone
- An announcement/bulletin menu
- New settings for series recordings
- A bunch of fixes

They will probably allow you to use your xbox at a set top box probably with an additional fee.

That's the only thing the guy told me who knows what will actually be launched and enabled.

Access to your PVR from your phone is something Microsoft is pushing hard for on Windows Phone 7 which MTS is likely to offer on their new network.

For reference, the new cell network is offically acitivated on March 31, 2011.
