I think it's important to keep Time's criteria in mind....their designation of Person of the Year doesn't mean a person is particularly good, it means they were very newsworthy. That can be due to many things, including very negative traits.

Zuckerberg is certainly newsworthy, but his penchant to exploit people's privacy for profit, while being less than genuine about it, will ultimately define him.

Given the criteria of newsworthiness, though, I think Wikileaks' Assange should have gotten it.
