Only one American hero has earned the rank of Green Beret, Navy SEAL and Army Ranger. Just one operative has been awarded 16 purple hearts, 3 Congressional Medals of Honor and 7 presidential medals of bravery. And only one guy is man enough to still sport a mullet. On April 23 2010, Will Forte brings Saturday Night Live's clueless soldier of fortune to the big screen in the action comedy MacGruber.

In the 10 years since his fiancée was killed, special op MacGruber has sworn off a life of fighting crime with his bare hands. But when he learns that his country needs him to find a nuclear warhead that's been stolen by his sworn enemy, Dieter Von ****h (Val Kilmer), MacGruber figures he's the only one tough enough for the job.

Assembling an elite team of experts--Lt. Dixon Piper (Ryan Phillippe) and Vicki St. Elmo (Kristen Wiig)--MacGruber will navigate an army of assassins to hunt down ****h and bring him to justice. His methods may be unorthodox. His crime scenes may get messy. But if you want the world saved right, you call in MacGruber.

There were plans announced just last spring for a MacGyver feature film. (Perhaps Richard Dean Anderson will make the obligatory cameo in MacGruber.)

"We think we're a stick of chewing gum, a paper clip and an A-list writer away from a global franchise," says New Line's Richard Brener.

I enjoy the MacGruber SNL skits but, since they are each barely 30 seconds long, I have only this to say...TICK...TICK...BOOM!

I have my doubts they can make this work as a full movie. I love the Mcgruber skits because they are short and funny. I don't know how well they will translate into the big screen.

Might be worthy as a rental one day.

LOVE MacGruber, but agree with the above that it'll be interesting to see if they can pull off a feature-length film. Glad to see Kristen Wiig was cast in it.

Owen Wilson or Will Ferrell

My choice for the lead, I think it would make an excellent movie, maybe even Charlie Sheen if you want to play it straight.

Heresy!

Strange Brew isn't an SNL spin-off! It's an SCTV spin-off!

What started out as a parody of a CBC request for Canadian Content, the McKenzie Brothers hit television in 1980 and went on to make a platinum-selling album, a cult movie, dozens of commercials, action figures, appear in editorial cartoons and become enduring icons in Canadian culture.
In 2007, the McKenzie Brothers reunited for the first time in 10 years with new footage on the Great White North set and were joined by some of their celebrity friends.

Also included are Bob and Doug's first appearances on Saturday Night Live, the Junos and the Hoser Parade in Toronto along with rare never-before-seen footage of the McKenzie Brothers.

Bonus Features: 7 Classic Great White North Sketches Songs: Take Off & Twelve Days of Christmas Famous People Talking About Bob & Doug Original McKenzie Commercials Sounds of the Great White North A Q&A with Bob and Doug Free Bottle Opener included in pack

I remember them being on several times, IMHO they were much funner on SCTV. The mouse in the beer bottle is a cultural icon. Would it not be great to somehow have Bob and Doug in the next Trailer Park movie?
