LG Electronics' has announced that the new LG G5 phone will be available to consumers in Canada this coming April.

Since its global unveiling at Mobile World Congress in February, the phone has been touted for its slide out battery and modular design, which are both said to give users a more flexible smartphone experience.

Consumers who buy the phone will also be able to purchase LG Friends, or companion devices, allowing the phone to capture more content, including 360-degree photos and videos.

The LG G5 will be available at all major carriers including Bell, Eastlink, Fido, MTS, Rogers, SaskTel, TELUS, Videotron and WIND Mobile, Best Buy, Tbooth wireless, The Source, Costco, and WIRELESSWAVE, with a bonus offer available for those who pre-order the phone at participating carriers.
