There is a setting call B.L.E under others tab in setup, if enabled it allows the output signal to pass blacker than black.dirtyrobot said:Hi everyone,
I just picked this player at FS after friends have recommended it to me. The only problem I have is that the whites appear to be blown out (on a DVD disc). Previous DVD player with the same TV did not have this problem. Any ideas?
yes, I've seen the complete lockup once or twice (in a year or so). You say you know about a problem in one of your files, yet you seem to blame the player.aqk said:... When the LGA530 hit this spot on the AVI, it locked up. Completely. Couldn't turn it off, couldn't eject the disk. The only thing we could do is pull the powercord. (i.e. a cold re-boot)
Yeah thanx -I hear what you're saying (that the player should have ignored the bad spot), but there is also some responsibility on the user side ... to make sure the files are clean, not corrupted.
go, get the player. you won't regret it.
this player is actually DivX certified, but again if you throw a badly encoded file at it ... it might not like it. It should have been able to handle the situation better, no doubt.aqk said:I suspect there's a lot of work that still needs to be done on set-top Divx/MP4 before it's ready for prime time.
I just wish there was some firmware upgrade info available for it tho!!
sorry I have no idea about the firmware ... one BIG show-stopper for me (about LDA-531) is the fact it does not play high resolution mpegs and avis. In a case of an upconverting player, this is unacceptable (to me). I know there are very few players that do this, but I will wait patiently for the one that does it ... I can see it already, on the horizont waving at meBantamcc said:btw- Do you know if that firmware upgrade will work for the LDA-531 ? No mention of it on the LG website !
I don't think so, unless it's a "special" audio, like DTS, then I think you might have to enable it (DTS) in the player's menu.lkjhgfdsa said:anyone know if i have to change a setting in the DVD players to make the audio output the optical instead of the rca jacks?
