If selfies are your thing, this might just be your dream phone.

LG electronics today announced the release date for the LG G3. The company had previously revealed the phone at a press conference in May.

The G3 features a 3,000Ah removable battery and a 5.5 inch Quad HD display with 2560 x 1440 resolution, which adds up to a whopping 538ppi pixel density. Also included is a 13 MP camera with Laser Auto Focus, and a 2.1 MP front camera with a Front-Facing Soft Light, which provides a lighting effect similar to that used by professional photographers, allowing you to take the perfect selfie, every time.

The G3 also has some unique security features:
  • Kill Switch — If your phone is stolen, you can remotely disable the 3G, wiping clean all your personal data
  • Knock Code — Create a customized knock pattern to unlock your phone, instead of the standard number combination lock

The LG G3 will be available on August 1 st through Bell, Rogers, Sasktel, MTS and a number of wireless retailers throughout the country.
