Customers, who have the means, can now purchase the first CURVED OLED TV available for sale in Canada thanks to LG. The LG CURVED OLED 55-inch TV (Model 55EA9800) is now available for pre-order at Future Shop and Best Buy for $10,999.

Unveiled at the 2013 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, the unique TV is 4.5 millimeters thick (at its thinnest point) and weighs a mere 37.92 pounds, which, says LG, makes it the "thinnest and lightest OLED TV in the world."

Jaime de Jaraíz, CEO of LG Canada adds: "LG's introduction of the CURVED OLED TV represents another important first for our company and the Canadian home entertainment industry. This phenomenal, next generation product is our most consumer-centric TV yet. Its subtly curved screen provides a more comfortable and immersive viewer experience and delivers an IMAX-like experience in the home. I am very excited for Canadian consumers to finally get their hands on it."

Besides excellent picture quality in both 2D and 3D images, viewers will enjoy the unique 4 Colour Pixel system including a white sub-pixel, which works in conjunction with the conventional red, blue, green (RGB) setup to create 33 percent more colour output than traditional RGB colour systems.

Kevin Andrews, Senior Brand Marketing Manager of LG Canada explains further: "LG continues to innovate television technology and was the first to develop the unique 4 Colour (WRGB) Pixel display technology for OLED TVs, which translates to more life-like colours, better reliability, and much better overall picture quality. Combined with our world's first LG Curved OLED THX certification and our premium fit and feel, including our Jet Black Carbon Fiber finish, the LG CURVED OLED 55" TV is one of the best televisions that we've ever made."

The CURVED OLED TV provides an infinite contrast ratio for optimal viewing and comes with thin transparent film speakers in a crystal clear stand for high-quality sound.
