Here is a quick hack I saw that uses a PC + Kinect + Openni + NITE + FAAST + a USB UIRT to send gesture signals to any device. You can now control your rogers box / satelite TV or normal OTA TV with gestures

You have a small appliance PC under the TV with a Kinect attached you can take the input gestures via the kinect and then use the IR blaster to send them to the TV / Cable Box / Apple TV / HTPC etc Very simple but clever idea

Very cool I will try and build one on the weekend (any ideas where you can get a USB UIRT in Canada)
