They are, quite simply, awesome.

The SLR model may be overkill for a s5is.

I used that model in Greece last year where I had to travel light and the 3 occasions I needed it it worked great. Two of those times were 10+ second exposures with it wrapped around the railing on a balcony

Correction - I have the SLR Zoom which is good up to 3kg. The SLR Model is good for up to 800g and the original 325g.

The S5is is 450g so yes, the SLR model is what you would want
