Can someone please tell me where the IR eye is on the HDPVR (Scientific Atlanta CIS430). I am trying to place my IR extender eye as it is behind cabinet doors. Telus told me it was next to the power button, but no luck.

It's about three millimeters to the right of the word "record."

Thanks for that, but now I am hearing and experiencing something about ambient light from my Samsung plasma, and that is why my remote will only work within 2 feet of the STB. I can't find anything on what to do.

I had a similar issue with my 430 and a sammy plasma and thought it was related to the ambient light issue..turns out that if I added some delay on my harmony remote all the issues went away.. worth a try.. I'm using a 890.. not sure if all remotes can change the delay... it's under the device you want to control the a radio button that says adjust your delays.
