Intellione today announced the release of a free iPhone application called ioVector, which features traffic congestion maps, trip times and local search to iPhone users in the Golden Horseshoe.

Using the company's ioTraffic system, the app updates its traffic congestion maps twice each minute thereby giving iPhone users the ability to find a faster route to their destination.

Digital Home downloaded the new app and although we were impressed by the colour coded traffic congestion map, we were disappointed with the user interface.

Despite the company's claims, we found it difficult to plot routes and add locations. We were also disappointed with the lack of integration with the iPhone’s contact database.

Readers can make their own decisions as the application is now available as a free download from the iTunes Canada app store.

The 0.8 MB application is currently available in the Greater Toronto Area, Ajax, Barrie, Brampton, Burlington, Hamilton, Kitchener-Waterloo, London, Markham, Mississauga, Niagara Falls, Oakville, Oshawa, Pickering, Richmond Hill, St. Catherine's, Sarnia, Windsor and Whitby.
