All,
I have a unique situation that has presented itself and I'm only posting my problem here as I am not sure where else to address it.
I used to have a Bell 5900 pvr in my bedroom and all was good until I purchased a new 9241. When I installed the 9241, it seems that the remote frequency used by the the 9241 interferes with the X10 system that I use to control all of the lights in my bedroom. Its amazing to see, if I plug the IRD into the electrical outlet behind my television then I lose complete control over the lights in my bedroom. As soon as I unplug the IRD, I regain total control again. After paying an electrician for 2 hours to help me figure this out, the conclusion that he came up with is that the only way to avoid this situation is to run a new electrical line behind my wall unit so as to have the lights on a different circuit from the IRD. This theory was tested by running an extension cord to a different plug in another room and voila the problem was solved.
So now, the question that I would like to pose, is there a way to change the frequency on the IRD to avoid all of this? I know how to change the remote address for the IRD as well I am aware that you can alter the dip switch in the remote to either UHF A or B, but all of this doesn't seem to solve the problem. Running a new electrical line involves making a few holes in wall, wall unit, etc. I understand that the 9241 uses UHF pro and the 5900 uses UHF.
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers,
Smitthers
