Hello, I'm trying to connect my HTIB to my PC using HDMI to my video card but the receiver won't recognize in the sound manager. I have a relatively new mid-range PC custom built 2 months ago and I run dual monitors including an HDTV to stream movies and watch BD movies from the PC.

My HTIB is a Samsung HT-TQ85 with HDMI in/out and Optical in for Audio ports. Here's a Cnet Review

My HDTV is a Sharp Aquos which pairs with my PC using HDMI no problem for both video and audio (just the TV speakers). Here's a spec sheet from Cnet

My Video Card is an EVGA Nvidia GTX 460 SC with 1 HDMI and 2 DVI ports.

My PC uses Windows 7 Home Premium with an i5 Core 750 and a motherboard: Biostar T5XE CFX-SLI with built-in Realtek ALC888 8+2 Channel HD Audio. There are 6 analog ports on the back of the board but no optical to be found.

When I plug my receiver into the video card using HDMI it simply will not recognize in the sound manager. However, by plugging in the HDTV is comes up right away. I am not too tech savvy when it comes to computers, would my issue have something to do with this:

My motherboard HD audio drivers are up to date and so are my Nvidia drivers (260.63 beta)

Also, my board does have a 3pin SPDIF plug on it. If I got something like this, and used optical to connect to my receiver, in theory would this then work

Thanks in advance.
