HTC announced this week that its HTC Flyer, an Android 2.3 powered 7-inch tablet is now available in Canada from the Source for $500.
Features os the device include unibody aluminum case, 7-inch capacitive touch screen, a 1.5 GHZ processor, 1GB of RAM, 32GB of Internal flash storage, a miroSD memory card slot, a 5 megapixel rear facing color camera, 1.3 megapixel front facing camera and WiFi connectivity.
Also notable is the inclusion of HTC's Scribe Technology so it is compatible with the company's Scribe digital pen. This lets users doodle, draw pictures and anoint documents on the device.
Reviews of the device out of the U.S. where the Flyer has been available for some time have been generally mediocre. For example, Tech Radar praised the HTC Flyers build quality and quality screen but was disappointed with the devices response time, battery life, user interface and price. TechRadar concluded " If this had come late last year, we'd probably be raving about it, but things have moved on, and we have to recommend an Android 3.0 tablet or the iPad 2 over it."
The HTC Flyer tablet is available now for $500. The HTC Scribe pen is sold separately for $80.
