I have an external drive that I was using with Bell until it was made inoperable by Bell (a discussion for another thread).

Recently I decided to use it with my Apple TV after I installed ATV Flash. So I re-formatted the drive in Windows 7. It didn't work and then I realized, hey it needs to be formatted in FAT32, not NTFS.

So how do I format an external drive as FAT32 under Windows 7?

Hmm, seems no way in Windows 7 so after some googling I downloaded

FAT32Format from

http://www.ridgecrop.demon.co.uk/

extracted the file
fat32format.exe

from command prompt I went to the directory where I extracted the downloaded file then typed in

fatformat32 f: where f was my external drive

Job done in seconds.
