Hi have not posted here since a while.
Just purchased a 42" Samsung series 5530 tv from the source and it looks like it may be a refurb or demo.Could anyone please tell me how to check to see how many hours are on the tv.

It is likely in the Service Menu (SM) and you can find the code to activate the SM via a web search.

However, BE WARNED, going into the SM is a dangerous activity if you press the wrong key and change some setting. Your TV could be disabled, and this would not be covered under warranty.

Some TVs have it in the user menu (near the bottom info/setup type menus), especially front projectors, however, I'm not sure about this particular model. Here's additional information/warnings on Service Codes:

Thanks for the info.Sorry had a typo error in the size of the tv, It is the 46" model. Contacted the Manager at the Source and they are going to replace it with a new one.
Guess I better not mess around with the service menus.
