Did a search and couldn't find anything related to this, but anyway, I saw on Wikipedia that Hot 103 will become Virgin Radio 103 on May 1, 2011. Couldn't find anything online proving this, does anyone know if it's true?

Well, their own website tells us that Hot 103 is owned by the same people who own Virgin Radio Calgary and Virgin Radio Toronto. Personally, I think it'd be smarter for Calgary and Toronto to change to the HOT moniker, but what do I know. Still, wikipedia isn't really a reliable source for any such thing, as there wasn't even a source listed for that poorly worded blurb. I could see some idiot at Astral Media upper management thinking to standardize on the Virgin name throughout their media holdings would be a good idea.. for web apps and such.. but really.. how could it be a good idea? Maybe they should split the difference and call it HOT Virgin 103.

I always chuckle when stations re-brand. They think it's going to make that much of a difference? Some of them don't even last that long, either. Like Curve 94.3 which just switched to Fab 94 60's & 70's. Ugh.

Reminds me of some of the local bars that seem to change their names at least once a year. I don't partake in those activities, but I still find it laughable.

Anyway, I guess I better chime in on the topic. I haven't heard anything yet, but I wonder if that'll mean a format change, too? Not a fan of this format anyway.

Hot's consistently #1, so they won't be changing format. They may re-brand, though I doubt that too. Either way, the Wikipedia line is bunk; the timeline doesn't make sense and it hasn't been announced.
