Hitachi L40A105

Problem arises when a power outage occurs. The TV will not turn on again, well not right away? Power is protected by a surge protector. Manual instructs to unplug the power for 1 hour and then plug back in and power back up again - that does not work. However, if it is left unplugged for 24 hours, then plugged back in, it will then power back ON? . . . ?

As you can see 24 hours might as well be an eternity. Any ideas how to FIX this problem faster than 24 hours later?

You may wish to contact Hitachi to see if there is a sequence of button presses to reset the TV so it'll power on right away. Perhaps even covered in the operating manual? Usually unplugging overnight is enough, but even that can seem like a long time. Try the on/off button on the TV rather than the remote? Here's the "Things to check" FAQ where this, and other issues are discussed.

If none of this works, you could consider a medium sized UPS to cover outages for a few minutes.
