My Motorola DCT6208/1000 box went completely dead my friend is really good at figuring out electronics but cannot figure out how you actually get into the box/get the cover off, can anyone help w/ that and suggestions on what would make it go completely dead Shaw can't even get a signal.
Any suggestions much appreciated

If you have Shaw TV, internet and phone, you have a lifetime warranty on the STB, so don't open it.

Otherwise, you can get a torx security bit. See this thread for other workarounds.
