We are moving to our first home, Basement is being finished and we already have an AV receiver, 5.1 speakers and a PJ. We would like to have a fixed screen in the basement, but to buy one, its so damn expensive. I read at AVForum that if u paint your wall with Kilz2 Primer, you can project directly on to the wall. I do see 2 options, correct me if Im wrong.
1. To paint Kilz2 primer at a fixed screen size and put borders with wood from Home depot, wrapped in black velveteen.
2. There's an Elite 120 inch pull down screen available in the US for $128. Make a wooden frame wrapped in black velveteen and cut the screen material from the pull down screen and staple it behind the frame to make it look like a fixed frame screen.
Plz tell us what might work well and give your valuable thoughts and inputs on this idea. Thanks for your time.
