this happened once before but i forgot how to do it, i think i went to diagnostics and pressed some numbers and unlpugged it, i never had to call star choice, it was pretty simply to do but forget how to do it, can anybody help me

Hmmm not exactly sure what it was that you would have done. Is the signal light on the front of the receiver green or red when it's turned on? Only other thing I could think of is that if the receiver has been uplugged for a long time, then it may need a factory reset. I tried to use one of my old 205's awhile ago which had been unplugged for a couple of months, it showed a poor signal, but after doing a factory rest with Tech support it was showing a proper signal strength again. I'd suggest giving Shaw Direct a call, they can probably have you up and running alot quicker than it'll take for one of us think what might be wrong :)

the signal is working great, its not that

iv tried unlpugging it several times, when it comes on it just say
"please wait we are processing your request"

then when i press guide it says
"guide info not avaiable"

this happened once before long time ago, but can;t remember what i did, i di not call tech support and do factory reset, it was something elese

also the power has been going off and on the last 48 hours so im certain that has a play in it, the time on the screen is wrong as well

the exact same thing happened before,i just forget

but i remember it was something about the diagnostic, and then waiting for the numbers to go all 0's, then waiting 45 min then plug back in, something like that

does anybody know what i mean, i think it reloaded the guide, and it takes 45 min for the guide data to download before plugging it back in

Hi oldschool,

Generally, this is the message you'll get on a Legacy unit when it has no signal. Is the satellite or light on the front of the receiver red or green? The lack of system time or Guide data is another indicator of no signal.

Alternately, it's also possible the UA has become invalid. Press OPTIONS-6-4. Line A is "Unit ID" and should start with 000-0XXXX. If it doesn't start with 4 0's, the UA is invalid and the unit will probably need to be replaced.

The power on/off coupled with the age of the unit could be responsible for that.

Either way, give us a ring and we should be able to resolve it with a single call. :)
