hi guys, this is my first post. Hope im doing everything right.

I bought a Bose system lifestyle 38 4 years ago and now its outdated. I have HDMI running behind my tv to my equipment. My bose won't take HDMI.

What I want to do is get a receiver that will input and output HDMI and have a Digital out to my Bose system for the sound.

My BOSE has a Digital input and component input.

Will this work? Is there a better way, and no I'm not going to replace the Bose( i know some of you are thinking this). I don't want to buy a whole new system, I just want to make my system work the best I can. I probably made a mistake buying this system but I can't return it now.

This make sense?

thank you for your response, I might look into that switch a little more.

And yes the Bose only has one digital in, I have tryed using a splitter for the digital in, however I felt like i lost a lot of sound.

Also because my tv is above a fireplace and I already have hdmi cables running from the wall to another location, I cannot add any more cables. I hvae 4 HDMI running already.

Worse comes to worse I could run more cables from my tv but I don't want to, I like the look of having them hidden.

Thanks again.
