HBO- Game of Thrones
I see George R. R. Martin's "OF Fire and Ice" is due out next month in 10 episodes called "Game Of Thrones". Evidently 1 book for 1 season. Trailers at the HBO.com site.
Never read the books, my wife loves them, but in terms of length and depth make "Girl With the Dragon Tatoo" trilogy look like Readers Digest.

If they do a book a year he has 4 years to write the next one.
I take it in this genre to start writing a series and not finish is not unheard of.
My wife was reading a series by Melanie Rawn called Exiles and the 2nd book was published 12 years ago and no #3 yet. I never buy trilogies or more unless all the books are out and done. I made an exception for Girl With The Dragon Tattoo because I can live with no 4th and if it comes out, bonus.
