I recently purchased a WinTV-HVR-2250 to watch digital and analog TV on my computer. Here are my specifics:

Windows 7 Ultimate
Windows Media Centre
CM4221HD antenna with 7777 preamp.

Now, I know that there are tons of digital OTA channels (including HD) in Ottawa because I am already watching them on my other TVs.

For some reason, however, Windows Media Centre refuses to recognize the digital tuners on my WinTV-HVR-2250. It only shows two analog tuners in the TV setup, and therefore does not let me watch the digital SD and HD local OTA channels.

Can anyone help me with the setup?

Thanks

Nevermind. I found the answer. Microsoft are a bunch of retards who deactivated ATSC digital tuning for regions outside of the United States. Because I selected Canada as my region in the setup wizard, Media Centre automatically ignored my Hauppauge's dual digital tuners in favor of analog.

Solution was to run the setup with my region as United States, and a zip code right across the border from me in order to get channel listings.

Apparently, there is another hacked solution to get proper Canadian region working, but I haven't tried it yet. Will report back once I do.
